2011 BLUFF Readers Choice Awards: Voting Now Open

With the end of another year comes the opportunity for poker fans to have their voice heard yet again in the seventh annual BLUFF Readers Choice Awards. Voting opens Tuesday, December 6 and runs until Monday, January 9.

The 13 categories in this year’s incarnation of the 2011 RCA include something for everybody and are sure to spark debate in the poker community. Favorite Poker Blog, Favorite Las Vegas Poker Room and Breakout Performer of the Year are all on the ballot again this year.

“Every year we look to improve upon the categories and I think this year we’ve done that,” said Lance Bradley, Editor in Chief of BLUFF. “We also changed a few of the categories to properly reflect the changes that the poker world has seen in the past year.”

Some of the most popular categories are back again this year with a new twist on some of last year’s categories. The most competitive category might be Favorite Web-based Poker Show where a new winner is guaranteed. The Micros, ESPN Inside Deal, TwoPlusTwo PokerCast, The Jess and BJ Show and QuadJacks will be battling to see who will replace the since-cancelled Poker Beat as the winner in this category. The Poker Beat won this category in 2010 and 2009.

A new twist on an old category is Top “On the Felt” Moment of the Year.

“Putting Black Friday up against some of the things that have happened at the tables wouldn’t be much of a contest,” said Bradley. “What happened on April 15, and the fallout from that, is undoubtedly the biggest story of the year, but we wanted to find a way to celebrate some of the great performances we saw this year, so we made a small change to the category.”

• Favorite Poker Tweeter
• Favorite Las Vegas Poker Room
• Favorite California Poker Room
• Favorite Florida Poker Room
• Favorite East Coast Poker Room
• Breakout Performer of the Year
• Favorite Male Player
• Favorite Female Player
• Top “On the Felt” Moment of the Year

Winners will be announced on BluffMagazine.com on Wednesday, January 11 and be featured in the March issue of BLUFF.
