Field of 64 Set for 2013 NBC National Heads-Up Poker Championship

After the first half of the field of 64 for the 2013 NBC National Heads-UP Poker Championship was released on Tuesday, the players filling in the other 32 spots were revealed Friday afternoon. The bracket has not yet been drawn up, as it will be determined Wednesday night at a draw party held at Caesars in Las Vegas, which will also play host to the tournament.

The field of 64 will play it out from Thursday, January 24 through Saturday, January 26, with twelve hours of content set to be aired over six episodes. Coverage will start Thursday, March 14 at 9 pm on NBC Sports, with the following two episodes airing on March 21 and March 28 in that same time slot. The final three episodes will air on three consecutive Saturdays at 1 pm on NBC, starting April 6.

The defending champion is Erik Seidel, who will be joined in the field by 2009 NBCHU champion Huck Seed and 2005 winner Phil Hellmuth. The first-time participants from this half of the field are Gaelle Baumann, Viktor Blom, Justin Bonomo, Joseph Cheong, Isaac Haxton, Kyle Julius, Andrew Lichtenberger, Matt Matros, Chris Moorman, Rob Salaburu, Matt Salsberg, Nick Schulman, Joe Serock, Sam Simon, 2012 BLUFF Player of the Year runner-up Dan Smith, Justin Smith and Jason Somerville. A qualifier from a contest run on WSOP.com will be the 64th and final player added to the contest.
